Fathers Day, Copperton Park, and Carrots

On Sunday we went to Jessup's for father's day and had a wonderful dinner and a fun time with family. We forgot the camera so there weren't any pictures. But I would have killed for it. Gordon kept reaching for Lance's cousin Damon, and giving him loves it was so cute!!!
We went to Copperton Park yesterday with Cari's family to celebrate fathers day. We ate dinner played and had s'mores. We love our fire pit.

This morning I went out and picked some Carrots, Lettuce and peas from our garden. We also have strawberries, tomatoes, pumpkins and watermelon going. Here are the carrots.

Lainey & Lilly's dance recital

Last Wednesday Lainey & Lilly had their dance recital. They were so excited and did so well.

Sorry our camera is woefully inadequate for indoor events with the lights out. I did steal some pictures from the Rudys who have a much better camera. :-)
Lainey's dance was "Marbles
Lilly's dance was "Chutes & Ladders"

Lainey & Peyton striking poses (trying to find their parents in the crowd).

Here is Lainey & Lilly with their friend Peyton after everything was over. If our girls look like they have been crying it is because they were. Lainey got lost on the way out and was afraid she wouldn't be able to find us. When we went over to get here the same thing happened to Lilly - good times.

P.S. I just need to say thanks to my friend Kumaravel in India who kept reminding us to post pictures of our girl's dance recital. We appreciate your friendship and interest in our family's life.

Lots of flags

As many of you know I have been the one spear heading and coordinating the flag fundraiser with our scouts. Well last Saturday was out second time putting flags out and they got quite wet. So what do you do with 58 wet flags????
Doesn't my garage look patriotic? (except for the complete mess part). Of course it started to bend my hooks holding the ladder up and everything almost came down. A few 2x4s and some rope is holding it up nicely.

Of course Lainey had to be part of this too. My little helper.

Fruits of our labor

On Sunday, for the first time, we were able to eat a salad with everything from our Garden.

Not whole lot of color, but lettuce, carrots and peas - all home grown. Yeah!

Happiest of Birthdays to the Bestest of Husbands!!

Happy Birthday Lance!!

Not everyone in this world is lucky enough to marry their best friend, but I am one of the lucky ones. We have known each other for 11 years now, and I still remember the night I met you. I remember one night my mom came in my room and I was talking to you on the phone. She asked "is he a friend or more than a friend". My response was that I hoped that you would be more than just a friend. Little did I know then that you would become my eternal sweetheart. When we were seniors in High School, I had to change a class and purposely choose the one you were in. We have seen some very happy times, and some not so happy times (not in our marriage :0)). You joke that I chose you, but you chose me back and for that I am truly thankful. I hope you have a wonderful day!!

P.S. Please ignore the labels on the photos, I'm not sure how to get them off, nor can I figure out why they all got labeled Lainey broken arm!! LOL

P.P.S With a little help from my more technologically advanced husband we got the labels of. I am such a dork!!
