A camp out.

The kids have been dying to go camping again. It just hasn't worked out so we decided to do one in the back yard. It was complete with tents, sleeping bags, campfire, and marshmallows. We even had my niece Keatley join the fun.

updates

So I know it has been a while and you all thought Cari no longer blogs...... Well I haven't wanted to give it up but sometimes things just fall by the wayside. So here are the updates for the Jessups

Gordon is about to turn 3 and gets into everything!!! He loves sword fighting, running up to his dad on the stand on Sundays, Ninja Turtles, Cars, Skateboards (he has been asking for one for months for his birthday). He says funny things like the other day when we walked into my in-laws house and he promptly calls out "Ok where are the old people?" He thinks there are cars in his tummy and if he eats his boogers then it helps them come out. Gross I know..... He is just discovering that friends his age can be fun.

Lilly, has finished preschool and is eager to start Kindergarten. She is very excited to be going to a brand new school. We are trying to get her to stop sucking her thumb but things are not going well in that department. Lilly was a light bulb in her dance concert this year with the theme being inventions. She loves riding her bike without training wheels. Which she learned to do the same day as her big sister.
Easter Sunday
Lainey, finished 1st grade with flying colors. She is reading way above her grade and is loving chapter books. She devours them pretty quickly. She is not so sure about the new school because she is sad about the friends she is leaving behind at Oakcrest. She also started Piano lessons this spring and seems to have a natural affinity for it. In 2 months she breezed through her first book.

Cari , So I have been released as YW's president when Lance was called to the Bishopric. This has given me a lot more time to work on and develop some new skills and talents. Such as refinishing furniture and a little graphic design. I still got to go girls camp on the cooking crew. It was a different experience but I still had a blast. Last but not least I am expecting baby number 4. And once again I seem to be having a severe implantation bleed. I have been down for about 4 days and today we should hopefully find out more what is going on. I am about 7 weeks and the baby is the size of a blueberry.

Lance, is settling into his new church calling and trying his best to cover it all. He got to spend a week home with the kids while I was at girls camp. He is eagarly looking forward to scout camp and Youth Conference. I must say I am a little jealous :). Work is going well and there is talk about possibly sending him to Japan, although it is looking less and less. A couple of weeks before his birthday we found out he has a blood clot in his leg about the whole length of his leg. He said he wasn't having any trouble turning 30 but he did have a hard time turning 30 on blood thinners.

So that is our update, if we still have any readers left :)

Crazy Hair Day

So Lainey came home from school earlier this week totally stoked that Friday was crazy hair and crazy sock day. I didn't think much of it, so this morning I proceeded to get a little crazy. So her hair is done, socks are on, when.... I check her backpack for any notes to make sure everything is set for the day. I pull out a note that says that Lainey's class earned this day. And it is for her class only and while we can do fun things with their hair it shouldn't be to crazy or distracting. OOPS!!! Oh well she was happy.
I didn't realize how blurry they were till after she left, we literally had like 10 seconds to get her out the door!

Baby Jaguar

At one point in time when Lilly was trying to stop sucking her thumb, she gained a little friend, named Baby Jaguar. She is a right cute little kitty that has become a big source of comfort to Lilly. When I asked Lilly what she wanted to be for Halloween: Baby Jaguar. When I asked Lilly what kind of Birthday party she wanted this year: Baby Jaguar. I let the girls paint and decorate a picture frame for Valentines, when I asked Lilly what she wanted to put in her frame, can you guess what her response was? That is right!! BABY JAGUAR!!! She love this little cuddly kitty and you can see by the permenant dirt ground into her furr. So we did a photo shoot of BJ and here are some of the pics.

Vacation

Lainey was off track so we decided to head down south for a few days. We left early Thursday morning. We stopped at Cove Fort. The kids liked seeing the old stuff. I think they liked going up the stair to the look out spot above.

We got back int he car and after a few more stops we made it to Grandma Sherelle's house. We spent the evening, hiking around her property meeting the animals and having dinner with Grandma and Roger.

We then got back in the car and headed into St. George to our hotel.

We got up Friday morning and got ready for the day. We went to the Rosenbrach Wildlife Museum. It was ok, but we were all a little creeped out by some of the animals.

Our favorite part was the bug display.

We then went back to the hotel and swam in the pool, that is what the kids had been begging to do since we got there. After swimming we went back to the room and got ready to head over to our friends house. Along the way we stopped and did a little shopping on our way. We had dinner with friends from our apartment days. They have 2 daughters the same age as ours and they had a blast together! Lance and I enjoyed visiting with our friends. Saturday morning we got up and got ready to go hiking in Kolob Canyon, unfortunately Gordie got a little sick on the way :( he threw up in the car and we decided that hiking wasn't a good idea. We hung out at Grandmas house and Gordie seemed to be better so we decided to go to the Apple Festival in New Harmony. The kids had a blast.

They made corn husk dolls and Lance even competed and won a pie eating contest.

We had an great day spending more time with Grandma and just being together as a family. Whe got back in the car and headed out, but we didnt make it very far before Gordie started throwing up again. Poor guy. The car ride home wasnt too bad the girls kept themselves occupied embroidering and Gordie managed not to throw up anymore :) All in all we had a great time and came to the conclusion that it isnt about what we do on vacation it is about being together as a family and making the journey part of the fun! Even with car troubles :)

There, that being said I am going to try to get at least one post on here for every post or two on Homemaker is not a "Dirty" word! So we have been watching my nephew a lot lately and he fits right into our routine and he is really easy to watch. Lance brought home a huge box filled with bubble wrap. The kids went nuts! Here is the video. Hopefully there will be more posts :)
