Happy Birthday Lainey

This is a little late but here it is anyway! Happy Birthday to our sweet 6 year old. That's right 6! so here are 6 reasons we LOVE this 6 year old.

1. She has the most tender heart! If she knows someone is sad she will go out of her way to make that person happy!

2. "She tells the best stories"

3. She is a beautiful dancer and I love the way her eyes light up when she is performing!


4. She loves to sing just like her Momma! She is very diligent in practicing for Melody Choir.

5. She has the sweetest smile, and it will brighten anybody's day!

6. She often goes out of her way to make sure her little sister isn't left out.

The list could go on and on.....

Brussel Sprouts?

Recently while in the grocery store I had the grand idea of letting the girls each pick a vegetable. I was a little nervous about what we would come home with. On our first round we ended up with yellow squash and purple cauliflower. The squash didn't go over so well.


On our next trip we ended up with brussel sprouts and turnips. We tried the sprouts tonight and I must say I liked them (even Lance liked them). Of course after steaming them for a couple of minutes I lightly sauted them in butter, salt and pepper. All in all it has been a great way to mix some variety into our dinners and a great way to get the kids to eat their veggies.

I wonder what next weeks grocery trip will bring to our house.....
